Severely malnourished children are often dying because of lack of specialized treatment practices that are not similar for most children, but suitable for severely malnourished (SAM) children. Nutrition Rehabilitation Centers (NRC) are established in Health Facilities to provide appropriate and facility based case management to children with SAM for all under 5 children.
The lives of many children with SAM can be saved, and case fatality rates can be reduced.
