Objective:
Government of Assam implemented the services of Mobile Medical Unit on 20th June 2017 in the state of Assam to bridge the gap and provide accessible health care service for the people residing in out-reach, hilly, and tea garden areas under the banner of National Health Mission, Assam.
It is an outsourced programme. Presently Community Action Through Motivation Programme-CAMP is running the MMU services in the state.
MMU at a Glance:
Total no of Operating Units are 130
- 80 units are dedicated for Tea Garden Service
- 50 units are for hard to reach area.
- Number of district covered through MMU service-35

- MMU Team:
There are two (2) vehicles in each MMU team.
- One is used for transportation of the service provider team
- Other one is equipped with all medical equipment’s to support labaratory test.
- and the package of comprehensive Primary Healthcare Services to the door step of the community belongs to unreached areas.

- The team of service provider:
The MMU team is led by a Medical Officer and supported by a Nursing Staff, One Pharmacist, One Lab Technician and an Ophthalmic Technician along with two driver and a support staff.

Coverage:
- The number of Camps conducted by MMU is presently 25 per month per unit.
- Presently 583 Tea Gardens are covered by MMU and
- 37395 (repetitive) numbers villages are covered since inception to till date.
