1) Free treatment for Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) is available for children under the age of 14 years. The guardian must be a permanent resident of Assam and income should not exceed Rs. 6.00 Lakh per annum.

2) Free treatment for six serious diseases will also be available under Atal Amrit Abhiyan Scheme to members of the eligible beneficiary families. Families of Govt. employees and pensioners are not eligible. Enrolment under the Scheme is going on.The Scheme will provide inpatient treatment facility at the empanelled hospitals (Private and Public) up to a maximum limit of Rs. 2.00 lakh per individual member per annum within and outside the State of Assam covering 438 procedures for the following diseases:
The Scheme will be open for BPL families and APL families having annual family income of Rs. 5 lakh or less. Each individual adult member of the eligible families will be enrolled for the purpose and will be issued a laminated ID card having a unique identification number to facilitate cashless treatment facility at the empanelled hospitals. Children below 18 years of age will be enrolled with the head of the family. The Scheme will be free for BPL families and a nominal amount of Rs. 100/- will be collected from each member of the APL family as enrolment fees.
Under Atal Amrit Abhiyan, cashless benefit of treatment shall be available for selected procedures under six serious diseases in the empanelled hospitals. However, as enrolment of eligible beneficiaries under Atal Amrit Abhiyan has not been completed covering all districts in the State, financial assistance under reimbursement mode through manual applications is provided.
For reimbursement of treatment expenditures under Atal Amrit Abhiyan (AAA) scheme, manual applications were collected at the district level and cost of treatment is reimbursed as per guideline of the Scheme. Total 3240 numbers of beneficiaries have received benefit under AAA till now. Second phase of reimbursement is under process.
Financial assistance for treatment is also provided as reimbursement of treatment expenditure under Assam Arogya Nidhi (AAN) scheme.The “Assam Arogya Nidhi” scheme provides financial assistance to BPL families and families having a monthly income of less than Rs. 10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand) for treatment of certain diseases.
Diseases covered under Assam Arogya Nidhi Scheme are Cancer, Heart Disease & Heart Surgery, Kidney and urinary disease, Orthopedics, Thalassemia, Bone marrow Transplant, AIDS and Chronic Mental Illness. Some diagnostic techniques like ultrasound, Doppler riders, Radio nucleotides scans, C.T.Scan, Angiography of different organs and MRI and Some drugs like Immunosuppressive drugs, Anti TB drugs, Anti D , Anti Haemophile Globulin, Erythropoietin, Blood & Blood products/plasma for burn patients are also covered under the Scheme.
