Tribal RCH

  • About the Scheme:

    Tribal RCH Programme in an initiative taken by the Government towards the people which are otherwise deprived of health care facilities due to geographical backwardness, lack of sufficient health infrastructure and human resources, etc.

    • The objective of the programme is to reach the institutionally uncovered and underserved areas comprising of vulnerable tribal population.
    • Providing accessible, free and quality health care services to the Pregnant Women, Children and other weaker section of the society by conducting Outreach Health Camp.

    Tribal RCH are envisioned with a technical team comprising of 1 Medical Officer along with 2ANM, 1 Pharmacist, 1 Laboratory technician, 2 MPW/ SW and a Grade IV to provide preventive and curative services.

    Presently Tribal RCH programme embraces 6 districts of Assam namely Baksa, Chirang, Dima Hasao, Karbi Anglong, Kokrajhar and Udalguri. (In the year 2018-19 Udalguri district has been included).These districts are identified due to the population pattern comprising of tribal population with geographical inaccessibility (remote terrain area) to reach to the peripheral health facility for the remote inhabitants.

    Following activities are carried out in the camp site:
    • Provides Ante Natal, Post Natal check-ups, vaccination services etc.
    • Family planning services (including IUCD Insertion) and other RCH activities.
    • General health check-up, treatment, malaria surveillance & control.
    • Conduct disease surveillance.
    • Providing drugs, medicines, consumables, etc. like Quinine, Blood Slides, Lancet, Sprit, OCP, CC, IFA, etc.
    • Intervention of IEC and BCC like folk media, meeting, FGD, inter personal communication, etc.
    • Health promotion, education and awareness generation programs.

    IEC activities will also be undertaken to generate awarenes, and health promotion during the camps.
